Loads of stuff for you this month!
September Talk – Drafting
Our next talk, Drafting Made Simple, will take place on 7 September 2017 and be given by Katherine Kelsey of 1KBW.
National YRes Conference
The inaugural National YRes conference is taking place in London on 21 September 2017. I understand there are still some places left.
October – New Joiners Drinks
We will be holding a free drinks reception for new members (those who have joined since 1 January 2016) and those who are thinking of joining Resolution on 3 October 2017. Do please pass this on to any junior members of your team even if it is not relevant to you. Places are limited so do let us know as soon as possible if you want to come.
November Talk – Enforcement
Our November talk will be Domestic and International Enforcement Explained. It is taking place on 8 November 2017 (please note the change of date) and is being given by Duncan Brooks and Andrew Campbell of QEB.
Surrey YRes Summer Barbeque
For those of you living or working south westish of here, Surrey YRes’s summer barbeque on 31 August may be of interest. It’s taking place in Kingston, so not too far for the London crowd.
Website and Twitter
As announced last month, we have also set up a forum on the website to give our members somewhere to interact between events. If you would like to sign up please email email@example.com from your work/registered email and we’ll set you up with an account.
There are already a few topics being discussed, but it would be great to get some more contributions to get this new project off the ground. Recently started discussions include:
- An opportunity for you to suggest topics for next year’s talks: http://www.yres.london/forum/topic/future-talks-2018/
- A discussion of the new divorce petition, which is now available for use and must be used for all petitions issued after 4 September 2017: http://www.yres.london/forum/topic/re-designed-2017-divorce-petition/
- An introduction from the new chair of West Sussex YRes looking for tips and ideas for events that will revitalise YRes in that region: http://www.yres.london/forum/topic/hello-from-west-sussex/
You’ll need to log in to be able to read and contribute to these discussions.
They say the weather’s going to pick up next week, so hang on in there.
