January Newsletter

Dear all

For those of you we haven’t bumped into since Christmas – Happy New Year!

Firstly, you may have seen in the email before Christmas that Mark Harrop has stepped down from the position of chair of the committee after a fantastic two years of events and driving us into the 21st century (in case you didn’t know – we now have a website and Twitter account, and plans are underway for online event sign up and a LinkedIn account as well!). Richard Handel and I are stepping in to fill the role of chair jointly and I am sure that you will all join us in thanking Mark for his hard work over the last two years!

We have a few great events in the pipeline for the rest of this year so do keep an eye out for our emails. Our February seminar details are below to get you started!

20 February 2018: Salary, Dividends, PAYE and the self-employed – understanding remuneration

Join us on Tuesday 20 February from 6pm at Farrer & Co for a run through of different types of remuneration, how to spot them on a Form E/disclosure and what you need to consider when you do find them! The seminar will be hosted by Mena Ruparel and Mark Penston with drinks afterwards as always and we expect it to be really popular. The flyer is attached for you to start signing up now!

Save the Date

As well as signing up for our February talk, do also put the below dates in your diaries for our upcoming events (we will circulate further details and sign up information for our seminars closer to the time)

14 March 2018              Seminar on Public / Private Children Law issues

20/21 April 2018            Resolution National Conference

15 May 2018                 Seminar on Career Development

If the above wasn’t enough, we also have plans underway for a State Benefits talk in June, our annual Summer Party in July and a London YRes conference in November!

As always, do let us know if you have any questions or feedback, or indeed any ideas for seminars that you think would be helpful.

We hope that you all have a lovely weekend and we will be in touch soon!

Jemma and Richard
