March 2017 Newsletter

I hope you’ve all enjoyed having a bit of a break from YRes emails, because we have been very busy and there’s going to be lots to tell you about over the next few months!

April Talk

Our next talk “Top Tips for Family Lawyers: Private Client and Conveyancing” on 25 April 2017.

It is being given by Rebecca Fisher of Russell-Cooke and Stephen Harker of Dawson Cornwell and will take place at Collyer Bristow LLP, 4 Bedford Row, London WC1R 4TF.

Rebecca and Stephen will be looking at places where family law crosses over with tax, trust and property issues and flagging up some of those areas where it is so easy to make a mistake if you are not familiar with these areas of law.  It should be really useful for anyone dealing with finance cases of any size.

May Talk

The next talk will be “The Family Home and Cohabitation Disputes: What Do I Advise My Client? – An Overview of the Legal Framework, Procedure and Cost Implications” on 17 May 2017.

It is being given by Professor Rebecca Bailey-Harris of 1 Hare Court and will take place at Kingsley Napley LLP, Knights Quarter, 14 St John’s Lane, London EC1M 4AJ.

Rebecca will be telling us everything we need to know about advising on and running TOLATA claims for unmarried clients.

Further Ahead

Pencil into your diaries now our FREE 12 June session on Negotiation Skills.  More details to follow.

Resolution Conference

Hopefully we’ll see lots of you at the Resolution conference next week in Birmingham.  If you’re going, don’t forget about the special YRes session on Saturday afternoon “Negotiating Negotiation: how to manage emotion and achieve best outcomes for clients” and the YRes drinks reception at 7pm on Friday evening – both should provide a great opportunity to get to meet other YRes members.

I’ll be in touch again soon with more news.
